Research Interests

Huoming is working to develop and apply advanced mass spectrometry based proteomics technologies such as iTRAQ, SILAC and label-free tools to address various questions in biomedical and life sciences. He focuses on the quantitative proteomics analysis of immune response of various immune cells (e.g. monocytes, macrophages, and T cells) to invading pathogens, which could lead to an in-depth understanding of mechanism and further the formulation of immune-diagnostic/-therapeutic strategies. He also applies proteomics approach to study protein expression in novel marine species.
